The best salon booking software in 2026, compared on published prices

Most "best salon software" lists are written by one of the vendors and rank themselves first. This one is written by a vendor too — Xenla — so instead of a ranking you get the numbers each company publishes on its own pricing page, linked at the bottom, and an honest note on who each tool fits. Where we are not the cheapest, the table says so.

How we compared

Price is only meaningful for a team size, so every tool is priced for a solo pro, a 5-person team and a 10-person team, using monthly (not annual) billing and the US pricing pages as checked on the date at the bottom. We left out card processing, because every tool passes it through at a different rate, and listed commissions separately — that is where the bills quietly diverge.

Vagaro and Fresha show prices by region, so check their pages for your current US rate; the structure (per calendar, per member) is what matters for a growing team.

Who each tool fits

  • Booksy — solo barbers and stylists who want a consumer marketplace and accept a commission on new clients it sends.
  • GlossGenius — solo and small beauty teams who value design and like an all-in flat card rate; the price steps up at 10 staff.
  • Vagaro — small salons that want many optional modules and a low entry price, paying per extra calendar.
  • Fresha — teams that rely on its marketplace for new clients and are fine paying per team member.
  • Mindbody — multi-location fitness brands that need enterprise depth and can carry a per-location fee.
  • Xenla — teams of 5+ and class studios (pilates, yoga, cycling) that want one flat price, a room map with equipment booking, passes with QR check-in, an English + Spanish booking page and 0% commission.

Three questions that decide it

  1. 01

Where do your new clients come from?

If a marketplace really fills your chair, its commission can be worth it. If they come from Instagram, Google and referrals, you are paying for a marketplace you don't use.

  2. 02

How big will the team be next year?

Per-member and per-calendar pricing is cheap at one and expensive at ten. A flat plan is the reverse.

  3. 03

Do you sell classes or appointments?

Classes need capacity, a waitlist, passes and check-in. Make sure those are in the plan you are comparing, not an add-on.
